Master of Camouflage Leaf Bug / Walking Leaves

These interesting creatures are interesting insects, whose bodies are flattened in the dorsal-belly direction and expanded to the sides, and mostly green in color, similar to leaves. Especially the upper wings have the same leaf appearance in terms of shape and pattern. As the name suggests, they look just like a leaf. Therefore, these insects are also called “walking bushes” or “walking leaves”. The Giant leaf insect (Phyllium giganteum Hausleithner, 1984), from the old Greek “φύλλον” “phýllon” = leaf and from the Latin “giganteum” = giant, is one of the biggest leaf insects of the world and the biggest species belonging to the genus Phyllium.
