Brinkley first appeared in the special issue in the late 70s. She went on to appear on three consecutive covers starting in 1979. She also appeared on over 500 magazine covers - making her, at the time, one of the most recognizable faces on the planet.
But her most famous role might be in 1983, when she appeared opposite of Chevy Chase as "The girl in the red Ferrari" in National Lampoon's Vacation. She reprised the role of "The girl in the red Ferrari" in the 1997 sequel, Vegas Vacation.
