Amazing Heart-Shaped Amethyst Geode Discovered by Miners

Crystals and minerals are some of the loveliest gifts that nature has to offer. You are considered lucky if you are able to find any yourself. If you’ve ever gone crystal hunting, you probably already know how rare it is to find an intact geode. Not to mention finding a fully formed heart shaped amethyst geode! One could say that mother nature made this geode, with love.

The Heart Shaped Amethyst Geode

This heart shaped amethyst geode was discovered in Uruguay by Uruguay Minerals. The mineral company specializes in finding rare geodes and crystals to display and sell. However, they had no idea what they were going to find when they came across this extremely thick basalt rock.

The miners were excavating rocks at the new Santa Rosa mine in the Catalan area in Artigas, Uruguay, near the Brazilian border. Basalt is a very dense fine-grained volcanic rock so it comes as no surprise that the miners had to take their time cracking this thing open. After about 2 to 3 hours they were finally able to cut the basalt rock open, and everybody was met with a big surprise.

It was a normal day at our mine located in the Catalan area in Artigas. The workers were just now allowed in the area to find more geodes in the new mine. However, the basalt was very hard, so one of them joked, ‘now we have to find something amazing due to the hard work we have to do here.'” Explains Marcos Lorenzelli from Uruguay Minerals. “After two or three hours, they moved a basalt rock and with the excavator machine, opened a heart shaped amethyst geode—what a treasure!” (1)

A Gift From The Earth.

If you’ve explored the Uruguay Minerals website, you can see that they have a menagerie of crystals on display. Some of them retain their natural shapes while others are beautifully crafted. Ranging from amethysts moons, quartz cacti, ruby spruces, and so much more. However, their specialty mainly revolves around amethyst crystals. Discovering this naturally formed heart shaped amethyst geode is a prime example of rarity. The company is utterly astounded and overjoyed to add this geode to their collection.

This is very unique and it’s the first time we found something like this,” Lorenzelli further explains. (1)

Furthermore, this is truly one of the most poetic and symbolic discoveries that you could make in nature. The test of time to form the geode paired with the time that it took to crack it open. The spiritual meaning of amethyst paired with the natural formation of a heart. It’s every crystal collector’s dream to be able to find something this rare. Lorenzelli has decided to leave the geode untouched or altered and is to be left as is. Additionally, he explains that this is just too rare for them to process like other geodes in the past.

The company posted photos on social media of the geode and everybody reacted with the same joy. Some even saying that the miners holding the geode were the reason it was heart shaped. As a testament of their love for each other. Others commented that this was a gift from the earth. That perhaps mother nature is trying to reach out to humans. Whatever the explanation, this symbol of hope is causing a ripple effect all over the internet.

The Meaning Of Amethyst

Amethyst, in the language of precious stones, holds a lot of meaning and purpose. While the claims surrounding it aren’t at all scientific, there’s a reason why it is the world’s most popular purple gemstone. Amethysts are believed to hold healing properties, relieve negativity, give resolve, and even encourage your sobriety. It belongs to those who were born in February and is tied to the Aquarius sign. The history of this gemstone dates back as far as 2000 years ago.

If you are a lover of amethyst, then you should definitely check out Uruguay Minerals website. They have an abundance of amethyst crystals for customers to choose from. They have amethyst spheres, jewelry, shapes, and a lot more. Every single piece that they have on display is as stunning as the last one.

You’ll find that the company understands just how precious this mineral is as well as other minerals. Treated properly with respect and care so that others can share the magic that these crystals bring. Additionally, the company doesn’t hide any of its practices from the public, and minerals are harvested humanely. All efforts put into excavating these rare gemstones are done professionally and with care. It is unfortunate to say that there aren’t a lot of mineral companies that share these views or practices. As most raw crystals and rare minerals are excavated through slave labor.

Thank you, Uruguay Minerals for sharing all of this love and beauty with the rest of the world!
