Bird photography is an interesting but challenging genre of photography. You have to study the movements and behavior of birds in order to get that perfect snap. And there are many talented bird photographers out there who deserve to be appreciated for their works.
So, the “Bird Photographer of the Year” organizes a contest every year to encourage and acknowledge brilliant bird photographers. According to the organizers, “Photographers from all over the world entered more than 20,000 images into the competition, each with their eyes on the £5,000 grand prize.”
The Norwegian photographer Erlend Haarberg was declared the overall “winner” for an image of a rock ptarmigan in winter plumage taking flight above the snow-covered mountains of Tysfjord. Check out the winning images of 2022 in the gallery below.
