The vulturine guineafowl is the largest bird of the guineafowl family of birds.

The typical vulturine guineafowl temperament can be aggressive and violent and they often fight with members of their own clan to claim better territory or food. Males are very hostile towards hens as well. However, as far as humans are concerned, the vulturine guineafowl is considered to be a relatively tame bird, unlike the crested guineafowl which chases and attacks humans.
