The red avadavat (Amandava amandava)

Generally known as the Red Munia or Red Avadavats, this is a sparrow-sized bird belonging to the Estrildidae family which has other members like munias, mannikins, fire finches, parrot finches, and waxbills. Its appearance is so similar to a sparrow that most people often confuse them for one. However, there's barely any resemblance besides their tiny size.

The tiny strawberry finch (also the red avadat or red munia) in this story is an example. The 3 to 4 inches long birds are famous for their bright red plumage and tiny white spots covering its body
