The red avadavat (Amandava amandava)

Generally known as the Red Munia or Red Avadavats, this is a sparrow-sized bird belonging to the Estrildidae family which has other members like munias, mannikins, fire finches, parrot finches, and waxbills. Its appearance is so similar to a sparrow that most people often confuse them for one. However, there's barely any resemblance besides their tiny size.
