Woodlands come in many shapes and forms from snow covered conifer forests of the Northern Hemisphere, to the humid mangroves of India, to dry savanna woodlands of Africa. What these woodlands all have in common is that they are teeming with birdlife. Birds favour forests because they are multi-dimensional habitats, they have many different levels at which to feed and breed. These allow many different species to live together.
