Yellow-fronted Woodpeckers (Melanerpes flavifrons)

This colorful bird inhabits humid forest regions, secondary vegetation like orchards, cane fields, and palm groves, and can be occasionally seen in a partially burnt forest region. It has a limited range in South America and can be spotted in eastern and southeastern Brazil, eastern Paraguay, and northeast Argentina. It is an omnivorous bird that feeds upon fruits, berries, seeds, and insects.
