Attention all sheep lovers! There’s a sheep cafe in Seoul, South Korea that you’ll surely want to add to your bucket list. For animal lovers, animal-themed cafes are absolutely the best place to be. They can chill and interact with their favorite animals while enjoying a cup of coffee. There’s a lot of pet cafes around the world that feature various animals. And obviously, cats and dogs are again leading the way with the highest number of cafés inspired by them.
Although Japan has the most animal cafes in the world, it’s important to point out that the concept was first conceived in Taiwan in 1998. Taiwan introduced the first-ever cat café and it was the first animal-themed café in the world. However, it became popular in Japan when a Japanese tourist visited the cat café in Taiwan and brought home the idea of a restaurant that features animals. Since then, the trend of animal-themed cafes has been unstoppable. Aside from Taiwan and Japan, other countries also began to embrace the trend. And it’s not just cats and dogs anymore, but also other pets as well including rabbits, birds and even reptiles.
Sheep Cafe in Seoul, South Korea
So, with this in mind South Korea came up with a first-of-its-kind and created a place for sheep in 2011. The café is called Thanks Nature Café and this awesome place allows guests to meet and pet its two fluffy lambs. What seems to be a regular café from the street actually allows you to pet adorable sheep. The place consists of two sections – the restaurant area and a separate pen where the lambs are kept.
Guests can visit the separate pen and pet the fluffy lambs to their heart’s content. Thanks Nature Café has been very popular in Seoul, not solely because of the cute lambs but also for its delectable menu as well. But the cafe caught the eye of the internet when they posted some photos of their two resident lambs named William and Bentley on their Instagram page. We can see the two cuddly lambs roaming around the restaurant on the photos. And there’s also a photo showing one of the lambs getting bathed and then turning into a fluffy snowball. The photos became viral and people have been asking where they could find these beautiful lambs.
The popular cafe is currently listed on TripAdvisor with an amazing 4 out of 5 stars rating from satisfied guests. Thanks Nature Café is open every day from 11am to 10pm so make sure to visit the place the next time you go to Seoul. One happy guest wrote:
