The beautiful male spangled cotinga is one of the many attractions of the Amazon Rainforest.
Often seen perched on dead treetops or nibbling on fruits and insects, you’ll know this beauty by his turquoise body and deep pink or wine-colored throat. Female spangled cotingas are drabber looking with dull brown coloring and black mottling.
This species is not monogamous, and the female takes full responsibility for her clutch of 1-4 eggs.
