The oldest tree in the world — it is 9,500 years old and grows in Sweden!

Interestingly, the scientist who made the discovery explains that for its time Old Tjikko was a very small tree. The spruce remembers the Ice Age, during which the level of the North Sea was about 120 meters lower than today. At the time, most of the area between Britain and Norway was covered by a dense primeval forest.
